Decanter - 95 p - "Nestled on the slopes of the clay-limestone plateau of St-Emilion in a natural amphitheatre carved into the rock, La Croizille occupies a single-block vineyard with diverse soils and exposures between Tertre Rotebœuf and Troplong Mondot. In 1996, the Belgian De Schepper family acquired the estate and created a contemporary semi-underground cellar carved into the limestone. In 2022, La Croizille was elevated to Grand Cru Classé status alongside its sister property Château Tour Baladoz – a rare double success for the family – and introduced a new label the same year. Georgie Hindle: Great energy and focus. Lots of crisp red berry fruit, a lovely lick of saline minerality, fine tannins with a long, salty finish. Totally moreish, with a touch of chalk. Arthur Coggill: Wild blueberry, hedgerow and cedar spice. Initially reticent, but this clearly has depth. Midweight, glossy fruit. Firm, chewy tannins dominate towards the finish. Tom King: Sophisticated fusion of fruit and wood, with briny, seashore complexity. Superbly complete palate, with classy tannins, fresh fruit and excellent length."

Andreas Larsson - 94 p - "Dense dark purple core and hue. Pure and intense offering inky dark fruit, cassis, cherry, chalk, black truffle and mild oak underneath. The palate combines density and freshness, with layers of ripe dark fruit starting to open and soften, a wealth of ripe and refreshing tannin, very long and chalky aftertaste, a big wine starting to open."

Decanter World Wine Awards - 93 p - "Intense and spiced. Plentiful ripe rich red and cherry fruits, with dried herbs, violets, black pepper, and warming spice, leading to a graphite and miner finish. Chewy tannins, but remain balanced."
